Re: I Wanna Shout (It Out Loud)

The first time I had this album was about 20 years ago on a 'Progeny Tapes' bootleg album. I felt very privileged to have got my hands on the 'Lester demos. It was weird listening. (I was going to type "It was weird listening to...", but decided it didn't need the 'to' on it, and it was be...

Re: Was the dynasty stage set a move foward or backward ??

I thought the Dynasty set was sleek, and very new decade. I remember 1980 having a nice space-age ring to it, back in the day, so a sleek modern minimalist white set was very cool for KISS. It missed out on the raising platforms I feel, as this was an interesting element of the Alive II show. Plus, ...

Re: Your story......

Nice one, Fissaman. I'm on my 25th KISSiversary, like you. Strangely, it was "back in the Summer of '83" that I too first laid eyes on KISS vinyl, and it was also Alive II. Lick It Up was my first purchase though in October 1983.

Re: A Lepp article before Monday - Welsh roots

Car park charges in Cardiff are excessive - so will need a mortgage! Dan, there's a fairly new car-park built behind the Vulcan pub opposite the prison, before the bridge leading to the CIA. It's an outdoor effort, £1 an hour or £5 for 24 hours. Cheapest there is in Cardiff, and just 100 yards from...

Re: Strange Gigs

Gruff Rhys, Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, 2005.

I wasn't expecting him to remain seated behind a table for the entire concert, wearing a flashing gum-shield with the lights turned down while playing anything from £3 plastic toy keyboards to a wind-up tweeting bird in a bird cage.

Fantastic though.

Re: Greatest Sporting events

I have a Top 3; 01. Barry Town 3 FC Porto 1 (Champs League Qually 2001) 02. Nigel Mansell winning the British GP, 1992 (I think he won by 3 weeks, but the event itself was incredible) 03. Damon Hill winning the Japanese GP, 1994 (completely tonked Schumacher in the wet to line up a last race showdow...

Re: 11 years ago - Finsbury - any recollections?

This was, until Download, my favourite of the make-up shows I'd seen. At Donington '96 I was kind of confused by it all. I'd warmed up by the time I saw them in Australia, and by Finsbury I was definitely getting it. My recollection was that KISS played great, but the festival itself was kind of shi...

Re: Re-worked classics CD to be released officially in August...

It's funny, I saw them and thought "Yep, that's a typical greatest hits package", but now I've just remembered that they will be re-done 2008 style which I think is very cool. But then, you look at the songs that are there and you start to think that KISS are playing with fire a little her...

Re: Cinder Road opening up for Kiss!!

Shit aye, with so much furore over the KISS appearances, I don't think I mentioned Cinder Road. I actually enjoyed them in Paris - I respect any band that can pull off some class rock poses and not give a shit and still appear to have fun on-stage. They seemed to have a bit of fan-base at Paris, too...
