Re: Greatest Sporting events

Have to go with the 2 tests in the '81 Ashes series - Headingley, where Botham scored a brilliant century for a side at 500-1 to win, and then Willis ripped through the Aussies with 8 wickets to win it :D - then the next test at Edgbaston where good old Beefy did it with the ball this time taking 5-...

Re: Brum NEC Arena To Be Rebuilt & Renamed!!

Funny that...I was driving past the NEC the other day and wondered to myself whether it would ever get an 'upgrade'... Brum is still playing catch-up as a city when it comes to attracting bands to play - all because of the scandalous decision to close the Odeon on New St during the mid-80's...Wolver...

Re: JOURNEY WOLVES...what a gig!!!

Just to say that the Nottingham gig last night was equally brilliant. Arnel sang so so well - he makes it look effortless and has remarkably good stagecraft for a bloke who's been thrust into the spotlight so quickly from obscurity! Seems they could be back next year as well... :D  Ian 3...

Re: Dio in Brum

Oh, you can't beat a bit of RJD in my book, Hazza!! :D :D Twas a top gig - still an awesome voice for a man of 66 :?: and it was nice to see the Academy busy too. Mind you, I do have to gripe at the appalling sound guy, who first of all seemingly forgot to put a mic on Girlschool's bass drum (they w...

John Rutsey RIP

Sad news from the world of Rush - their original drummer John Rutsey has passed away after an apparent heart attack. He was the guy that played on Rush's debut album before deciding to leave ahead of a tour supporting KISS - enter Neil Peart and the rest is history. Much loved by Rush fans, despite ...

Re: Super Fulham!

Its always tough for the losers in these situations. I am sure Ian D will be devastated at seeing the Blues go down. It feels all too horribly familiar and predictable. So what if we won 4-1 today? It means nothing. To have stayed up on 35 points would have been embarrassing - thanks to the most ri...

Always sad to lose a cat from your family, but especially when it's as early as just 2 years old - very sorry to hear this. :(

You rumbled me, Dwight!!

Never a dull moment at St Andrews - we long for a season of drab mid-table mediocrity with no headlines whatsoever!!

Plant 'snubs' £100m for Zep gigs

Reports are suggesting that Robert Plant thinks differently to Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones and does NOT want to embark on a lucrative series of Led Zeppelin concerts this year, preferring instead to tour in support of his (excellent) "Raising Sand" album that he made with country singer...

Re: Eduardo injury

Sorry I've only just got to this thread - not had the chance to come online over the weekend... I was at the game reporting for talkSPORT, and nobody in the crowd at St Andrews was aware of the severity of the challenge until Fabregas' realisation of what had happened and the frantic signals to the ...

when i get home i think i will give these a go, sounds good, can you download back issues so to speak :?: Yes you can, Mark - as I discovered last night when having a butchers through my iTunes store - it gave me the chance to get issues 2 & 3 that I hadn't heard before, so I have more Kiss rel...
