as per usual - sarcasm, piss-taking but NO actual solutions....
feel free to feel offended, cyber-bullied, put out, outside of the clique, side-lined, marginalised or just generally have the piss taken out of. However it's a JOKE!-Nick's Mirth World!

Nice idea Pete, but seriously i think the forum is fine the way it is.Ive always enjoyed coming on the forum and dont think ive ever really upset anyone with my views on KISS.Basically i come here because i idolise the band, whilst i may read some really way out there posts i wouldnt dream of reacting to the obvious attempts that some people make to gain a reaction.During my time following this band through the good times and so called bad ive realised that no two KISs fans see it all the same, reason being we have had it all...Bloody spoilt we are!!
If i ever turn up at a KISS/related gig, even other band's gigs its more than likely id run into a fellow forumee,a handshake and a chat is the norm, for me thats whats part of being a forum member is all about. Its merely the tool to cement the camerarderie(sp) that exists between KISS fans.Ive been lucky enough to see KISS in other countries and share these unforgettable memories with fellow forum members, why shoud anything change that??? Its true that lately things have gotten tetchy,at my age i tend to find myself smiling at some of the comments, life is way too short to be falling out about such petty things...
In the past ive had disagreements with a couple of members on the forum who didnt agree with my opinions, its no big deal i,ll gladly discuss it with them sensibly over a beer and hopefully have a laugh about it at the same time.
As for giving out my name and address, i wouldnt be worried in the slightest, ive nothing to hide and have complete trust in the many friends ive made on the forum!

Many thanks for listening

Bob from Southampton

Great post AMF...

I also enjoy this forum a great deal. Really don't like it when it turns nasty, and one of the strenthgs when I first joined was the friendliness and excitement that was generated on here.

Good moderation is vital, I suffered a few years ago on The Sweet forum when everyone was having a free for all attacking my wife in a ost vicious way, and it took ages for it to be withdrawn. Good to see the porn crap a few months ago was deleted sharpish. Belive it or not some dutch sweet fan posted pictures of himself being poohed upon! Its amazing what people will try and pop on forums.

It isnt a private forum and I aint one of the facetube, mybook generation. So Norman from Bolton will have to do.

Happy about the extra moderation and hopefully a gentle reminder to people who transgress should do the ticket. Lets learn to play nice together. Im sure that most people would think about what affect their post had then say sorry, but if we all dive in with both feet as if its a war all the time then people will feel backed into a corner.

Also if someone joins and posts more times than they take breaths then a moderator should keep an eye out. Has this happened before

For me that last post with the link to the video with every other word a swear word was awfull, a moderator stepped in and took action.

I dont post often but review it everyday and there is more right than wrong with this place. Good crack and good information, eg got the link to Ace tickets here and although its not even sold out yet I slept better for having the tickets sooner. Cant remember who that was but thanks from the bottom of my love pump

But every week it kicks off for very little reason. Mention which town you come from then youtube posts appear ripping into the place, etc. Little bit of rasicm from time to time - for me this isnt the place for it.

Also, this might be a struggle for some but try not to post too much when drunk as its hard to unsay things.

Any way good luck with the changes

I kind of know where Nick is coming from
Sometimes there someone on here who maybe get a laugh at constantly having a go at one particular member or another - stalking their posts then posting shit and trying to have a pop at them, happy in he knowledge that they are anonymous , hiding behind a keyboard. You dont know who it is and why they are picking on you. It may be someone that you have upset somehow (?) or just someone who is bored with too much time on their hands wanting to be a nuisance.

Also someone could set up a second fake profile (often called a sock puppet profile) and use that to cause mischief whilst appearing to be totally innocent and sane via their main profile.
They may even argue with themself (via the second profile) just to have a sideways swipe at someone, or set up "straw man" arguments so they can tear them down
For more info on these concepts look below:
Sock Puppet :
Straw man :

So Nick maybe just wants a way for people to be out in the open and not hide behind a keyboard whilst slinging mud at other users of this forum.

Also I agree that an increase in moderation when these outbursts kick off may be a welcome thing as has already been stated.

We all have differences of opinion - for example:
I love KISS dearly - I love the music, the shows, the whole thing and I personally love the cool guitars that they have used over the years and I happily collect the albums, videos, DVDs, and guitars
However I can't stand some of the wider remit of the collectables - stuff that is so far removed from the core of what Kiss are as a band and is just a cash grabbing exercise in my eyes (Mr Potato Heads, dolls, etc etc)
But I know that others feel 100% passionate about that stuff and enjoy collecting, trading and owning the stuff and I support their right to do so (even though I may say it's a waste of money)
It comes down to personal choice - I would waste just as much money on other interests - clothes , guitars, going to see other bands, holidays etc and my choices are no better, but they are MY choices and I am usually happy with them.

BUT I wouldn't dream of locking horns with someone on here so badly that I would choose to post stuff to deliberately piss them off, or set up another profile to post stuff to belittle them or make a nuisance.

Pro-spec, no compromise guitars , hand crafted in the UK
Past customers include Dressed To Kill, Parasite and Hard Rock Cafe
