Aye, I was talking to a mate of mine this evening and he say Velvet Revolver on the same stage, he said that was compact and intense. Then he took into account the boots and height of KISS in full Armour -he said it should be crazy!!!

Yeah, thats another thing. The initial spiel was that they were playing an 800 capacity venue but only 500 tickets were going on sale? Does anyone think that that is all that will be in there (apart from say 30-50 liggers) due to the size of the venue and the room KISS need to do their show? I have my doubts that there will be 800 people there to be honest.

Press and guests are usually on the balcony. I've seen a couple of bands there before. It isn't a bad venue, sound can be touch and go, but obviously Kiss will have their own guy doing it for them.

Islington Do's & Don't's

Postby sssikuk » Sun Feb 28, 2010 9:42 am

With the biggest KISS event coming up in 2 day's time I wanted to ask a couple of questions.
If the person I'm going with gets in the queue a few hours before me will people be really pi**ed off if when I arrive I join him in the queue? Or should we go to the back? Be honest.
I was going to take audio recording gear. Is Islington easy to get gear into? Or is it not worth the hassle?
Same thing with a camera...will people be taking cameras?

Can't wait!

Saw Hinder there last year, the place is tiny. The stage is small if KISS are in make up then they will look enormous.Best thing about the venue is the air conditioning which kept everyone cool.Everybody had access to the balcony when i was there but if you didnt get to the front of the balcony you couldnt see a thing!!

Its not a bad sized stage for a small venue. Don't forget, KISS won't be bringing over the full show for this so I can't see what the issue about the stage size is about really...and they've played on far smaller stages as well.
Saw Stryper there a few weeks ago and the sound was spot on. Its a nice little venue.....apart from some of the staff !!!

Don't worry for 99.999999*% of the population this is just another gig in a shitty London venue. Just do what you normally do at a gig.
Just play the bass you bell-end!!

Do I detect a slight bit of jealousy in that post sir or are we referring to the staff of Classic Crap who couldn't give a bollocks who it is ??

If you want to take audio equipment with you be careful ssikuk. The security staff at the O2 are bastards and will porbably confiscate it, throw you out and then deny all knowledge of you setting foot inside the building.

I intend on bringing a digi camera -I'm hoping there wont be any hassle with that, after all most phones have camera's on them these days and the bouncers cant confiscate people's phones.

I'm in two minds about how early to queue. In one way I want to queue as early as possible (realistically 3 or 4 pm) so I can be sure to get to the front.
In another way I'm not too unhappy about being in the centre / back as the space aint too big so I wont be too far away either way (as long as there aint some 6 foot dude standing in front of me!)
