Islington Gazette wrote:GLAM rock superstars Kiss "blew the roof" of Islington's O2 Academy at an intimate surprise gig for just 500 fans on Tuesday.

The veteran US band - famous for their elaborate make-up and stage costumes - played a one-off warm up show at the N1 Centre venue, in Parkfield Street, Islington, ahead of their Sonic Boom Over Europe tour.

Singer Paul Stanley, who shares vocal duties with bass player Gene Simmons, said: "We thought this was the perfect opportunity to do something a bit crazy. With all the buzz about our upcoming tour we thought 'let's come to London, strip it down, turn it up and blow the roof off the O2 Academy'.

"What better way to say thank you to our most devoted fans than to pummel them?"

The UK leg of Kiss' tour starts in May and includes back-to-back gigs at Wembley Arena.

Hmmm, this may be real, it may not. Can't see why it's a hoax by the fan - but maybe a spurious set-list left hanging around waiting for some poor sucker to send out a spoiler. Good find though spaceman!
