it was THE first date, a massive event and the excitement in the run up to the gig was unbearable.
The night in question was really in the early days of large gigs so a cow shed was the best we had really followed by an ice rink the next day.
it was magic, special and a dream come true for the fans who had waited so long for the return of KISS.
I missed this tour - had a ticket for Deeside.
The buzz in Sounds before and after the gig/tour was fever pitch - the letters pages and the articles by "sixth member" Barton.
You mention the "early days of large gigs" - when I attended Bingley in '83 - it was a real ram shackle event ... barriers, bouncers, merch stand, information etc, etc - not like the NEC, Nynex, CIA, Hallam's of this world today.
When I visited Bingley a few years ago and I'm sure Kev will secong this .... I felt in awe of the place - an awesome gig experience ... but also fright of the concrete walls/cow shed gig surroundings.
