Sad news, Sunday mornings in the 70's were always Gerry Anderson mornings.. :(

yeah sad news,when i was in the navy in the 1970s one of the ships i was on was on was hms penelope & he presented the ship with this

My brother served on HMS Penelope - poss in the 70s too.

i was on her march 75 till aug 77

I grew up on watching his shows...Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Thunderbirds, UFO, Joe 90...all classics.

Firstly great to see Mr Majester post on here again.

I loved Gerry Anderson's programmes so much, started of with Thunderbird pyjamas when I was 4. Captain Scarlet was always my ultimate hero though.A picture of a young HKA in 1982 with Scarlet t shirt, INDESTRUCTABLE

Very sad news, lets hope the disease doesn't get to debilitating

I had that shirt! Back in the day, when I was a bit nerdy, I used to attend Gerry Anderson Conventions. Met him loads of times, lovely bloke and bought me hours and hours of entertainment, still does. Anyway here is a really sad intervew, he sounds so old, from ITV's Daybreak:
