When Gascoine played for Boro a while back he lived in my hometown of Seaham harbour. Every time I go back someone has a story about him and not one shows him in a bad light. He was one of the most talented footballers of the modern age but personality flaws and the idiots he surrounded himself were never going to help.
What would we give to have someone that skilful and that passionate playing for England now?
