Taste Of Chaos tour

Postby w00dy » Wed Dec 08, 2010 1:32 pm

I went to the Taste Of Chaos tour at the NIA in Brum last night. Cracking show and despite shitty weather i'd say it was about 3/4 full.

Wasn't really looking forward to Halestorm but what a surprise. They were fkn superb, great sound and they worked the crowd brilliantly.
Drummer was a total loon and was great to watch, his sister who plays guitar and sings has one of the best female rock voices i've ever heard.
Half on hour set was too short for them.

Buckcherry.....oh dear, they were fkn awful, the singer reminded me of Axl Rose (you wanted to tw@T him one after 2 songs),I thought the songs were shite,
and they defo had no place on that tour (but that's just my opinion.),sometimes it seemed as if they were playing 2 different songs at the same time.

Papa Roach were suprisingly quite good, crowd went nuts for them. Didn't really know much of their stuff but they're one of those bands where you go
"i know that one". Enjoyed em.

Disturbed were fkn amazing as usual although David Draiman suffered a bit of the 'Paul Stanleys' for the 1st few songs but soon got into gear.Great video screen
stuff show during the songs as well. Great set list with a good mixture from all their albums and overall a very strong performance.

All in all for £27.50 it was defo value for money :D

I was at Brum last night (back home by 2.30am, in work by 9am).

So was Largebloke, Baby Demon, and ex-Hotter Than Hell's manageress.

Woody, sir - we'll agree to disagree - Buckcherry rocked the muthaf**kin' place - was front row 8) .
Why are they on this tour - they share the same management and touring agency :D

Halestorm - excellent set and what a voice, what a lady.

I'll be at the Glasgow show this coming weekend, - if trains are not snowed in, for a mini-KISSinUK Xmas Celtic nations meetup  .

Disturbed were very, very good - last time I saw them was Donington '08 - then I thought they were ok.

Defo a bargain at £25.00 (cash sale).

I was at Wembley last night with Mrs HKA plus little un and her mate who are both massive Pap Roache fans.

Missed Haelstorm

Buck Cherry agree with the Axl Rose comments by Woody but still quite enjoyed them.

Papa Roach - second time I have seen them now, really good guys and always get audience rockin.

Disturbed - Officially the worst band I have ever seen (sorry to any fans on here) stayed at the back of the arena until 10.30pm and then left to make sure I caught me train and not having 1 hour wait in the cold, perhaps I am just getting old.

Being taken to see Bring Me The Horizon and Bullet for My Valentine on Sunday, always find BMTH hilarious with all the crowd surfin...Should be a riot

I'm in Manchester looking forward to some more Chaos :D
I decided to do a few dates as I love 3 out of the 4 bands. Halestorm are amazing - I have been lucky enough to see them quite a lot over the last year or two, and they just keep getting better. I hope they end up in the studio for a follow up album once this tour is over. Buckcherry were brave enough to make 50% of their set new numbers - they're my 4 favourites from the new album, so that was ok with me. I miss tunes like Slammin', Porno Star and Ridin', but there's only so much they can do in the short set time. Papa Roach just get better every time I see them - If you dismissed them after their first 2 albums like I did, give them another go. They are an amazing live band - at Wembley, Jacoby Shaddix got the pit going, and I bet the security at the rail hated him after he asked them to start crowd surfing  . I'm afraid I don't get Disturbed at all - I have listened to their stuff, and not a huge fan, but live performances can change that. Unfortunately, I thought they were terrible, and when they did a Genesis tune in the middle of it all, I did my best not to laugh. All a matter of taste I know.. If we all liked the same thing, life would be dull.
Good to see Dan & HKA, and Woody, how can you miss me??

I went to the Birmingham TOC...

Couldnt agree more with w00dy except on the Disturbed front.. not a big fan and I hadnt slept so it all got a bit much and I went and sat my ass down at the back when they came on...

Halestorm where a complete suprise for me as I didnt really like their albums untill I saw them live...

The lead singer of BC was rubbish complete and utter tosser

Papa Roach just made the roof rise up the whole crowd started jumping and it was fantastic...

Disturbed continued what Papa Roach had started and maybe if I liked them it would have been good for me too... but each to their own...

Now recovering from the Bullet gig last night in Cardiff... Lol

Had a great night at the SECC in Glasgow seeing the Taste Of Chaos tour thanks to a certain Dan Bach.

Halestorm's drummer reminded me of Animal from The Muppets, and I agree that the girl's voice is amazing. The music didn't really grab me all that much, if I remember I'll have a look for them on Spotify and give the album a listen.

Am a huge Buckcherry fan, and they were on great form in my eyes - loved the mix of songs from across their career. I do prefer seeing them in small venues (their show at the Glasgow Garage a few years ago was amazing), but as I first fell in love with their music back in 1999 when I saw them supporting Kiss in Paris and Brussels, the size of venue doesn't make that much difference to me!

Second time seeing Papa Roach and enjoyed them a lot more than I did at Sonisphere as I was able to appreciate the ambience of a crowd of Papa Roach fans more. Very glad they finished with Last Resort, gave me something to dance and sing along with.

Second time seeing Disturbed too, but a hell of a longer gap - saw them in 2000 supporting Marilyn Manson. Personally I enjoyed their cover of Land Of Confusion, and they played some stuff off The Sickness (their first, so far as I know, CD), including ending their set with the title track from that album which had me back to bouncing and singing along.

1822 miles and counting - another Odyssey?

After The Taste Of Chaos was back at Wembeley on Sunday with Mrs HKA, Jenna and her boyfriend Danny who is a massive Bulllet For My Valentine fan.

What an extradoniary gig, we had 2 seats, the kids stood but we also had 2 spare standing so I went down to the floor for the end of Bring me The Horizon who are pretty rubbish but I love the audience reaction which is always full on.

Went back to Mrs HKA in the seats and Bullet opened their set at which point we got a text from Danny to say Jenna had fainted and was in the medical room. Fortunately she had recovered, the medics were brilliant and we were then all re-seated right next to the stage which was a right result. I have never seen such a mental crowd since I used to see the odd punk gig in the early 80's. Average age was probably only 18 but there was non stop crowd surfin, fists pumpin all night circle pits and mosh pits, a real high energy performance from teh audience and and even better performance from the band. If your teenagers like metal then I bet Bullett are one of their fave bands. Best Wembley crowd I have ever seen...

Absolutely blew the other gig away both for performance and crowd...

Back to my old roots on Friday as its the annual Hawkwind Christmas party this time in Kentish Town Forum. Always a brill night

Saw Bullet in Cardiff Saturday night... it was a really good gig.. the crowd was mental there and a bottle fight broke out just before Bullet came out :) it was crazy non stop bottles everywhere..

Then bullet hit the stage and instantly the crowd went wild... after a few songs they played the Welsh National Anthem :D always good :D it being their first homecoming in ages and their first gig in Cardiff CIA made it all the much better :D
