Mind you, if anyone’s expecting Lemmy to celebrate the band’s 35th birthday then they might like to note this recent quote from him to Classic Rock about this landmark:

“So what? Those sort of anniversaries mean more to others than to me. I don’t know what all the fuss is about.”

Motörhead also play this summer’s Download festival.

Read that as "Motorhead are celebrating their 35th Anniversary by doing exactly the same November tour that they have done for the last XX years"

Of course I shall be going because Motorhead are, of course, an awesome live band.

For me too. Have done November/Motorhead at Hammy Apollo, Cambridge Corn Exchange and Brixton Academy over recent years - in fact this year will be about the 6th on the trot. In fact my son's 18th birthday was spent with him and a few of his mates at Brixton Academy.

Never rated Phil Campbel as a guitarist and miss Eddie Clarke and the legendary Phil Taylor on drums.

Both times I've seen Motorhead, they were pretty boring. God knows where this "fantastic live band" stuff comes from. A predictable set list and little to no interaction with the audience.

Clutch blew them off the stage first time I saw them.

The current line-up does nothing me either, Mikkey Dee is a good drummer but I still can't see why Phil Taylor can't return.

To be fair, there never really was much interaction with the audience in the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's either. But they are a great live band and at least they tour the UK pretty much every year.

I agree with the fact that it is good that they tour the UK every year, but I get the impression it is more of a dinner ticket than being "for the fans".

I honestly don't think they give a shit about the fans at all.

Mikkey Dee just lost most of his skill when he joined motorhead - his stuff with King D was superb
