Re: R.I.P Gary Moore
One of the greatest guitarists of a generation who probably unknowingly contributed to teaching most lead guitarist's how to make use of a fret board.
If not for Gary Moore ALL modern day blues/rock based guitarists would be still trying to emulate Robert Johnson and failing miserably. Gary Moore showed you can progress from one vein of music to another in a very simple and easily understandable way.
The link between EVH and being able to play lead guitar properly.
One sustained note during Parisian Walkways was more than most of the top guitarists could muster with a million notes per second.
An incredibly massive loss to music as a whole.
Gifted and brilliant !!!

VERY sad news..... but not entirely unexpected...
When I saw him backstage at High Voltage last summer he looked huge....bloated, tired, sweaty and 'out of it'...
RIP Gary

Re: R.I.P Gary Moore
Awful news, not a massive fan, but a fan and an appreciation of where he stands in rock. So when we read "died in sleep", your quote Gary suggests he may have influenced his demise somewhat. Was he known to burn the candle at both ends?dtkdemongene wrote:VERY sad news..... but not entirely unexpected...
