Motley Crue - Saints of LA and most of the back catalogue in anticipation of the show.
Must admit though that one of my favourite Crue albums is the self-titled one with John Corabi. Very underrated album I think.

Just on my 2nd listen of "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" by Alice Cooper. Very VERY undecided on it.. when they reference the first one it really shows promise it's just a shame that they filled the album with so many novelty songs plus the "I Got Get Outta Here" climax is rather lame & throwaway (compared to the original's "Awakening"/"Escape" conclusion)... it's less "Welcome To My Nightmare part 2" more "Alice Cooper Goes To Hell Rebooted for The Hills generation".

It's fun enough I suppose... it just seems a wasted opportunity - especially when stuff like 'the underture' & the bonus track 'Under The bed' hint that it could have been a true sequel with the same weird dark creepy vibe of the first one.
Even the final twist could've been really clever & effective if done darkly.. but it's thrown away here in a comedy Tom Petty homage. It's all very odd... a bit like they got halfway through recording a sequel and gave up and decided to make a fun gimicky album for the halloween party market but then also gave up on that so just whacked all the songs together.
I miss the days when Ezrin was strict bastard with a definitive vision, ego fuelled ambition and appetite for such projects.

Alice Cooper's "Nightmare 2".
It's defo a mixed bag ... but the orig is such a landmark album - the bar is set so high - that if the sequel is not equal or better .
Seems to me also that Alice is getting people in - so that he get's kuodos (sp) points.
Zombie is a poor Vincent Price (RIP) replacement - he should be guesting on backing vocals akin to the 1996 Cooper live album.
It's great that Dunaway, Bruce, Smith, Hunter are getting to do stuff on this - but apart from Hunter - they had left/sacked/replaced by the time the orig was released (I'll get my coat). One saving grace - Paul Elliott's interview with the Coop is a good "get behind the man, the myth and the music" in the accompanying magazine to the fan pack.

Benn playing the new Anthrax album all week and holding back on the Alice album for another week. With new Misfits and Wednesday 13 albums out soon it's going to be a bumper year end for me!
Just play the bass you bell-end!!

Been listening alot to an old new wave band, The Monks. Sort of a best of ALbum called Bad Habits. Some really good fun stuff on it, which people forget was a big part of the punk/new wave movement.
Everyone remembers this:
