The guy who used to have the Limelight has bought another pub/club. It's the old Rendevous (sic) in Eturia, he's renamed it the 'Holy Inadequate'
after an old pub he used to own.
Not sure about the gig situation yet, but he is hoping to put bands on. Now there's a guy you just can't keep down!

Re: Anybody want to buy The Limelight ?
Right ladies & gents just been past the LIMELIGHT in Crewe and i noticed the Sign outside was scrolling, so went for a closer look and it said
Under New management a fresh start goto http://www.crewelimelight.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so fingers xed it may re-open
Hopefully, I will keep you posted if i hear anything .

After limited support to a rescue attempt from the people Crewe, the club buildings were sold to a local developer on 24th February 2011. There currently remains a chance that a smaller version of "The Limelight" may live on. The reality remains that a Live Music venue at Hightown has not been financially viable for many years. Before Ray sold it to Paul it was already on a down turn. Living in the past does not pay the bills.
If a smaller venue is to open bearing the same name it may be more feasable. However, only if people stop watching "Talentless Britains" on the television at the weekend and start going out to see live entertainment. If you are genuinely interested in live entertainments you need to go and support them where ever they are.

He actually was charged with tax evasion, which he didn't get found guilty of. He only got sent to prison because he broke the terms of his bail, by moving money from his bank accounts.w00dy wrote:The last owner of the Limelight was sent down last year for fraud mate.....the original owner Ray, has the Joly Tar just outside Nantwich.Bay wrote:The guy who used to have the Limelight has bought another pub/club. The new owners of the Limelight are turning the new part into flats, to fund the renovation of the old part. So the new rumour goes....
