Ozzy / Randy Rhoads Tribute

Post by Father Jack »

Right, for the last few months myself & Woody have been putting together a Randy Rhoads era Ozzy tribute band.
We've finally got someone who will do more than justice to Ozzy....(especially from the Diary era) but we've decided it would save a whole load of hassle if we had a keyboard player instead of relying on pre-recorded backing tracks.

So, we're looking for a talented keyboard player who is:
a) reliable
b) competant
c) understands they will NOT be centre of attraction in the middle of the stage & will be off stage more than on stage (which is how Ozzy has his keyboards)
d) has a good sense of humour
e) isn't bothered about travelling all over the country perhaps Europe to play
f) Has a full UK driving license

In return, shows for 2013 are being sorted right now throughout the UK. We will be the ONLY RR era tribute in Europe & have a great experienced & very well respected management / booking agent working on our behalf.

Any applicants please pm myself or Woody and we'll provide the email address for you to send us a current photo along with your musical cv & links to any live video recordings and studio recordings you have.
If anyone knows someone who they may think suitable (but doesn't use this forum) then pm us & we'll pass on an email address for them to use.

I met Randy in October 1980 on Ozzys first solo tour and a nicer person you could not meet ,he was tiny even in heels ,he signed everything and someone asked him "What song do you open with" , he replied "I don't Know" and the guy asked the same question again , and Randy replied the same thing again...We looked at each other and figured that the chappie asking the question hadn't heard any songs from the first LP... AND he asked again ,so Randy had to point to a copy of the LP he was signing and show the guy the name of the song...needless to say the young man was rather
Ziggy played guitar...or was it Ronson?

Excellent. Great album. I think most people tend to overlook it and refer to the debut 'Blizzard of Ozz' but this is a classic. Good luck with the venture, look forward to seeing you live...

Im looking forward to it. After all these years Ive finally got the self belief I can do justice to Randy Rhoads' material.
Yes I know I'll be scrutinised by loads of people who think they know what they're talking about but after 16 years of playing in kiss tributes I can comfortably handle those who wish to pick fault things they can't do themselves.
Yes, I do have a polka dot flying V & the Gibson RR will be ordered at the end of the month.
Yes I know I'll never be tiny like Randy, but pissed off enough I can turn into a fuc*ing good Zakk Wylde, lol.
Ive got a fantastic Ozzy. Ive worked with him before as he was my singer in Dark Light & did the job as Ozzy in the short lived tribute I had before joining DTK.
Ive also got a great bass player too. No matter what abuse you aim at him, Woodlouse has worked his bollocks off learning all Bob Daisley & Rudy Sarzo's bass lines.
As far as Im concerned Ive got one of the best unsigned drummers in the UK on board (if his job allows him to play a full weekend of shows). We all know how good Ian Danter is so I really don't need to say any more about his talents.

I just find it head scratchingly difficult to understand how hard it is to find someone who can play keyboards & wants to play live. Are people of talent that few and far between ?

No, but they want to appear on X Factor (et al) and make lots of money for very little effort...Good luck though!

I thought it had been established that the name of the band was Diary Of A Kebabman?
