The Beatles - White Album
Where has this been all my life?! What a stunner.
I tell you what though, it's taken the edge off the 'genius' of some of those early Queen records though. I always figured that stuff like Mercury's 'Seaside Rendezvous' and 'Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon' was pretty unique in the rock world. And then I heard the White Album and stuff like 'Honey Pie'.
I'm floored by it. Amazing.

Re: The Beatles - White Album
Interesting post Dwight - yes; where have you been.
My switch-on tracks to this classic were covers of the songs - Helter Skelter (Crue, hands up who has the 12" pic disc,
http://www.cover-vs-original.com/song-102.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) & Back in the USSR.
I think was inspirational to Bill Aucoin, Denis Wolcock and Sean Delaney - think of the huge photo-cards you got with the orig release .... the inserts and extras - you got with KISS releases.
When Gene and Paul mention KISS fans being loyal to one member of the band and they mention the same with the Beatles - this album supports that.

Re: The Beatles - White Album
I was doing a tour of a school last year, walked into a music lesson where they were discussing the Beatles. I sad "Am I allowed to say what I think?", and then said "Over-rated. This is a band." Then lifted up my trouser leg and showed my tattoo.
The room went into uproar.
