Dio in Brum

Fantastic gig! I could not believe it when I bumped into Ian & Ash from DTK....unbelievable, Brian!! 3-) *-)

For those of you going to the Astoria, you're in for a treat, but if you don't want to see the score, look away now!

Oh, you can't beat a bit of RJD in my book, Hazza!! :D :D

Twas a top gig - still an awesome voice for a man of 66 :?: and it was nice to see the Academy busy too.

Mind you, I do have to gripe at the appalling sound guy, who first of all seemingly forgot to put a mic on Girlschool's bass drum (they were supporting and did ok considering the lack of bass drum!!) and then he totally cocked up Simon Wright's drum solo - Wrighty finished his spot with a Cozy Powell-inspired '1812 Overture' bit, complete with orchestral backing, stood up at the end to take the applause of the punters, only for the Overture music to start up again!!

A minor quibble, however, and the folks I spoke to outside said it was far more entertaining than the Heaven & Hell show that Ronnie did with Tony/Geezer/Vinnie last year - a show that I'd been disappointed to miss at the time!

Dio still rocks, chaps and chapesses!! No need for him to 'pass the torch' yet as Tenacious D suggested!!
