DTK @ The Sugarmill in Stoke last night!!
So i'm walking past Music Mania(Lotus Records) in Hanley and see an add for DTK tickets for a show at The Sugarmill last night. If i'd have seen it last week i'd have bought tickets and then been really pissed off.I though it was strange though cuz nothing was mentioned on here .
It seems there is a local 'thrash' band going by the same name.
Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/dressedtokill10
So do we have some copyright issuses going on here with the name then?
I say just fight it out

Welcome to the continuing trials and tribulations of being in a band....
Band name copyright is very hard to enforce. We're registered on the band registry but to be honest who really cares about stuff like that....?
Just goes to prove that people should ALWAYS check our website/myspace before setting out for ANY gig. Should be an obvious thing but not many people do it....

F**k it, I'd fight the lot of em, lol.
To be honest, they really have to be incredibly stupid NOT to check the name before choosing it as their own. I mean, DTK have only been around for almost 20 years, so its not as though that name isn't known outside of KISS circles.
Im sure they must know the folly of their choice by now, but are either too cretinous to bother changing it, or maybe hopeful in getting some good bookings with a name synonymous with professionalism throughout the world.
I just hope for they're sake they don't start to piss venue's, promoter's, people off & give the name Dressed To Kill a bad rep (as one particularly stupid American band almost did with a likemindedly dumb person who thought we were the same people).
Gary is right though. Always check the DTK webpage, here or on our myspaz site for show updates & info.
The last thing you want is to turn up at a show thinking its us & be bombarded with million mile an hour chord changes by some hairy arsed, unwashed metal band.

Actually, I'll take this opportunity to remind you that we, (that's DRESSED TO KILL, the KISS tribute band that's been around for nearly as long as the thrash metal band by the same name have been alive), will be playing at The Asylum, Birmingham on Fri 25th July.
There will be no Slayer covers, Cradle of Crap songs, or anything by Venom I'm afraid.
Though there is support from those incredible metal warrriors, David Lee Wrath.

Just had a look at they're myspaz site. It really wouldn't be a fair fight to be honest. They're only kids.

Just give them a severe telling off if you meet them........that should suffice.
