WASP - 4 CDs for the price of 1

Post by skinnymartin »

Went to Zavvi in Oxford St today.

WASP 2 CD packs,2 for a tenner. So I got Helldorado, The Sting, Headless Children and Inside the Electric Circus for a tenner.

As well as a Nashvlle Pussy CD for an over-priced £14 (but they are awesome).

Oh. And I got a student discount too.

Some great sounds there. Except for The Sting which is rubbish, unless you like every single screw up on the cd, like mics not working for entire songs! Double Live Assassins or Live in the Raw, if you don't have them are worth another tenner at least.

 LMAO!

On the subject of the sting...it was originally broadcast as a webcast. VERY RAW + VERY LIVE...as in no studio touch ups at all.
WASPs old record company decided to release a dvd/cd of the webcast (without the bands permission) so thats why audio is lacking abit. Basically its a 'Semi Official' Bootleg. It has its charms though.

Headless & Electric Circus are brilliant albums.

The Crimson Idol is probably my fave wasp album these days

I loved the debut and second albums

Electric Circus and Headless Children are pretty damn good to be fair

Everyone should own a copy of The Crimson Idol.

Epic album. That is WASP's 'Masterpiece'
Did you go to 'The Crimson Idol' tour GuitarGuru?

I totally agree, it is one of the all time great albums.

The tour was great but its a real shame that WASP can't fill arenas as this story deserves to be told to bigger crowds.

I was at 4 dates ... Liverpool, London, Barcelona and LA.

I attended 2 Alive 35 dates ... thats how good the Crimson Idol is.

Yeah definately a shame but....it would suck not being able to see them in a place like Rock City. They usually pack out the clubs so thats cool.
The intimate setting was perfect for playing that album. Im still yet to see them at a festival (playing to a huge crowd) i might fly over to Bang Your Head Fest next year for em. Seem them 13 times since 2004 (3-4 times per UK tour since then) Never been disappointed. I only did 2 Alive! 35 dates but costs alot more to see KISS lol.

I dare say ill do another 3-4 gigs next tour, should be photographing the show for the website and stuff. 8)

I've lost count how many times I seen WASP now and I've never seen a bad show. Always 2 to 4 time per tour since my first show which was Donington 1992 and Wolverhampton a few weeks later. Helldorado 99 in London is one of my best memories and The Key Club on the Sunset Strip earlier this year. Any idea what they plan to do next or whether we will get a tour next year?

Cool 8) Well Lawless is in the studio at the moment putting together/remastering tracks for the upcoming boxset. So far i know of about 6 european dates but i cant really say much about them just yet. Theres a good chance we'll get some dates around next summer but as far as i know there wont be a huge tour next year, just big european fests and a few major cities possibily to coincide witht he release of the boxset but we'll see.

Soon as i can ill have em up on the myspace site. (Which is being redesigned from the ground up now....)
