Europe are touring the UK again next year. Caught them in Feb at Leeds and they were fantastic. Latest album is great as well so I'll definately be at one or two of these.

Friday 18th February - Birmingham O2 Academy
Saturday 19th February - London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire

I'll be at one or two of those.. I was sadly put off Europe for many years because of The Final Countdown.. I was persuaded to get Last Look At Eden, and it is astonishingly good - one of the best albums released last year. Any others in their catalogue that would be worth getting?
When did Motley Crue become Classic Rock?

The thing about Europe is that, in my opinion, all their albums are really good. First one's pretty good for a debut, then Wings of Tomorrow that is excellent. Final Countdown, great album of it's time overshadowed by one song. Out of this World has some great moments but is probably the weakest overall. Prisoners in Paradise is really good a top notch slice of quality melodic rock.

Then the original line up got back together for Start From The Dark that is quite a dark album but again a lot of quality on it. Secret Society came next and on first listen I didn't like it. Takes a few spins to get into it but it's worth it when you do, no hit singles on there just a collection of very strong songs.

Last Look At Eden is probably the best album they have done. A real classic rock album, the title track, No Stone Unturned and In My Time are three of the best songs by anyone.

Great band, with some top songs who put on a fantastic live show.

Start From The Dark is definately worth a listen. I nearly voted for Last Look At Eden for album of the year in Classic Rock, but my loyalties to a certain other band prevented me from doing so !!!
I have got tickets for the Europe show in Manchester. This will be my first time seeing them, so quite looking forward to it.

Forgot all about this till Friday, had a look on Ebay and managed to get a ticket for 5.99.

Saw the band in Leeds last night and they didnt disappoint, played new and old tracks.Personally i feel the Final Countdown tars Europe with 'the cheesy tag', couldnt be further from the truth they are a solid rock outfit who have wrote some great tunes over the years.
The band sounded great and the crowd although it took time to warm up had a great time.

You're right about the Final Countdown - except that it makes a gig. The Final Countdown was one of my favourite moments of Hellfest 2009.
