Re: Ryan Dunn

I'm NOT defending the guy, and I appreciate why people have the views they do about drink-driving, but in my experience of the States, their attitudes to drink-driving are fairly similar to UK attitudes in the 70s. It's just not been subject to the level of government demonisation that it has here a...

Re: Morroco

I went to Agadir, very nice place but looked as though it was on the verge of overdevelopment (this was about 5 years ago now). Some interesting aspects I discovered: the local taxi firms are legally only allowed to charge a maximum of X amount - and it's really cheap. Therefore, you can't get rippe...

Re: Tommy Lee's drum solo/new trick

It's Motley Crue. It's Tommy Lee. It's utterly ridiculous.

And, therefore, I heartily approve. Brilliant.

Re: Very little time left - His return is near

Leaving aside your apparent mental ill health for a minute, you ought to be fairly ashamed of this comment: Many have lost their lives in other countries from ancient times to this day to spread the Gospel, so if I get a warning or lose my membership here, truly hoping I don't, or if I get ridiculed...

Re: Download 5-Day for £100 !!

I'm almost tempted to pay £100 for Danzig and Letlive, but it'd only encourage such overall poor line-ups in the future.

Re: Internet Speeds ?

Can't really grumble about my speeds (on a supposed 10Mb down/1Mb up line):

Virgin are so tight on DL allowances, capping and throttling that I found it pretty pointless paying them for anything more than 10Mb.

Incorrect.
Not at all incorrect. Exhibit A

In many ways, I would honestly say the Argos one is worse.

Re: SCAM Microsoft Calls from India.

Turn it round on them and ask them the same, then tell them that you've set up a business doing the as them but undercutting the competition by £1. Always good for a laugh   I just ask them to confirm that their name is really 'X' about four times. You can hear them get shiftier each time...

Re: SCAM Microsoft Calls from India.

I've had two calls from India, one called 'Daniel' and the other 'James', who both asked if I had Sky TV and what make my main TV is. The really hilarious thing is that they get shitty when you have the cheek to ask, 'Why the hell do you want to know and why the hell should I tell you?' It's ...

Re: Ex-Iron-Maiden-lead-singer-faces jail

On another note, I find it had to fathom how people can think some sentences are meaningless when there are those who get away with burning poppies and spouting slogans of hatred / religious extremism & terrorist dogma all during a rememberance service and get a £50 fine. Yet another example of...

Re: Ex-Iron-Maiden-lead-singer-faces jail

One of the changes that is being campaigned for is for the new police commissioners to have a free role to campaign on the judiciary - recognising the frustration that the police often feel about catching criminals who then get tiny sentences. If they even get sentences. The local judge in my town ...

Re: Ex-Iron-Maiden-lead-singer-faces jail

Absolutely agree. A judge's sentence should be a minimum - with time added on for bad behaviour. Somehow, I don't think Ken Clarke shares your view. Talk about let down, he's determined to be softer on crime than even the last mob were. If the current government do anything worthwhile in office, it...

Re: Ex-Iron-Maiden-lead-singer-faces jail

Not to derail the thread too much, but I really do wish our politicians would stop allowing sentencing to be essential a LIE. As rightly pointed out, a nine month custodial sentence actually means just a four and half month spell in jail. I sometimes wonder how many people are even aware of this. Th...
