FAVOURITE KISS LINE UP

Postby Spaceace2001 » Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:48 am

Seeing as the forum seems to be something of a home to tumbleweeds these days I thought a poll might help to liven things up a little..

So how about this, if KISS played the UK again next year what line-up would you prefer?
"I went to my friend's house one day, and he had an electric guitar he had just bought with a tiny little amp. I turned the volume up to 10 and I hit one chord, and I said, I'm in love."

I think you have Ace or Peter in the band then the make up is a must.
If not then no make up for me.

I just hope they do tour here...

The "Original Masked" was what started it all but...

For me the Revenge Era is amazing. The tour setlists for 1992 were great, with alot of classics thrown in and the best songs from Revenge played live. To me Revenge is also one of their best albums, it's so down and dirty rock I just think it's highly underrated and deserved more attention at the time.

Also I think the Revenge Era' was technically the best lineup there ever has been in Kiss. Eric was a monster on the drum kit and really had great fills, and Bruce is another underrated guitarist imo. And the Unplugged segment just proved how good this lineup was, and how good they could play. I mean not many bands could do Expos and play (or at least attempt) any song from their entire back catalogue.

I voted for the current line-up unmasked - even though my preferred line-up would be the Revenge era back when KISS was still musically relevant. With that never going to happen, I'd prefer Eric and Tommy to be themselves please! Not that that will happen either it seems...

The level of musicianship in the Revenge Era line up was certainly very high, but for me KISS isn't KISS without the make up and costumes and it would be hard to see how Bruce would fit into that set up. I thought the line-up with Ace and Eric was great, the clip of the Melbourne Jam was fantastic and reminded me of the 'Unmasked' tour with Ace and Eric Carr (RIP)

For me the 1980 line up with Eric Carr was my favourite, but the Revenge era was a very close second. Eric Singer was blistering !!

Original with make up... the earlier the years, the better. For me anyway.

The original is best becuase Ace sings Pete sings they have signature songs, which go in part to make up the 4 dimensions.

Ah! Well now Ash has thrown Eric C into the mix, there'd be nothing better than Stanley/Simmons/Kulick/Carr in my eyes. But I presumed we were talking of surviving members only. Without Carr, and as much as I love Brucie, it'd still have to be an unmasked (but preferably clothed) Stanley/Simmons/Thayer/Singer.

I agree that the orginal lineup circa 75-77 was the ultimate, Kiss 1980 with Ace and Eric ranks a pretty close second.

I was intrigued to know if KISS toured as they are NOW would people rather have Ace and Peter or Tommy/Bruce and Eric? For myself I would rather have Ace and Eric in a current lineup.
