Here an update on some changes I am currently making:-
* News ticker on forum pages - these should display the latest headlines from the news pages (which will be updated regulariliy now that Sonic Boom is nearing release). Please let me know if this is working or not - it looks like there may be an issue with IE7 as it doesn't seem to be working from my work pc.
* Trade forum- this will be opened up to all registered forum members from tonight
* Mobile forum - I am still looking into this and have 2 different solutions installed but neither of them are very good, I will be trying a third later this week
* Competition - look out for a Sonic Boom comp to be launched very soon....
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: Changes to site
Thanks to the people who let me know that the ticker wasn't working, I've now got to the bottom of it, although it looks like it is working for most people which is good. If you use IE and only get the 'initializing ticker' message then in your IE settings set 'Binary and script behaviors' to Enable (found when your press 'Custom Level' on the Security tab).

Re: Changes to site
Sorry people - I'm a techno/IT dumbo - but all your updates (which must be congratulated) cause me major irritation - freakin' script messages.
I feel like I'm back in the amusement arcade of the late 70's/early 80's playing either Space Invaders, Scrambler or Defender - I'm constantly hitting the return button - like it was a fire button.

what browser (and version number) are you using?
If it's IE then you can try changing the setting mentioned in the post above, I am trying to sort it out but in the mean time setting the 'Binary and script behaviors' option to 'Enable' will fix it (you will find it by going Tools, Internet Options, then Security tab, then press the Custom Level button - it should be hidden away in that screen..).
Re: Changes to site
Ignore that, I may have fixed it without having to change your IE settings. Please try again and let me know if it is working.
The part that was causing the problem is the bit that fades the text in and out, if you don't have the setting as mentioned above then it should still work, just not as nice.

Re: Changes to site
All fine on latest versions of safari and firefox on the Mac and fine on the iPhone too.
Re: Changes to site
Thanks mate, Safari and iPhone were the 2 that I haven't been able to test yet.
It is working on the Nokia browser too, but has a black border around it that I can't seem to shift.

Re: Changes to site
Don't worry about it mate, I fu*ked up the site by adding the news headlines at the top of the forum. Good job I don't do this for a living
