Censorship - how to turn off!

Postby kissinuk » Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:10 pm

I've been asked again why some words are censored on the forum - this can easily be turned off by doing the following:-

* Click on 'User Control Panel' above
* Select 'Board Preferences' tab
* Click 'Edit display options'
* Change 'Enable word censoring' to 'No'

I've tried to make No the default but it didn't work properly

Cheers,

Paul.

:lol:
I never understood that one, from what I've heard all it ever managed to do was piss off German fans who never associated it with the SS anyway. It did of course also piss off everyone else in Europe when some people got lazy with their European KISS logos!...

Edit: Just read that it was a legal thing to prevent lawsuits seeing as the original SS logo is illegal in Germany.

Yep i'm sure.I've read it in a few interviews,ace collects(or at least did) nazi/german war memorabilia.The bikers in the usa(uk too) have always been into the german insignias(iron cross,ss etc..) I will never post anything that's just rumour or wild speculation.Although i didn't hear it personally of course,i've read a hell of a lot of interviews,kiss and related,over the years.I'll always try to post links too,if i can remember where i heard said stories.

I was under the impression that he designed it like that as a sly dig at Paul & Gene who are Jewish and Ace had family in the SS. Of course there's always the 'It looks like lightning' reason...

Still interesting to know.

Can't see it being a sly dig at gene and paul myself(they were all friends then) But there's a story of when Kiss were on tour,Ace(dressed in a german stormtrooper outfit!) burst into gene's hotel room shouting "jews rouse!" Apparently gene and paul found this very funny!
