was never going to be less than 7 as thats what the dutch f.a gave him for the same offence, but 10 does seem stupid, hes a world class player but absolutely crazy just like cantona was, There's a fine line between genius and insanity

Amazing.
And for a challenge that breaks someone's leg and possibly ends their career a player with get 3 games maximum for violent conduct.
Same length of ban he got in Holland would have been suffice.
Still, we all know the FA are the head of the anti-Suarez brigade so Im amazed they didn't ban him until Dec.

There is a difference between a poor tackle, which although they can be life changing are, for the most, incompetence and poor timing rather than malice. Albeit, Ryan Shawcross has a history of poor timed, incompetent challenges and deserves a life time ban :-)

Personally, I think 10 is about right. If he hasn't learned the lesson from a 7 game ban for the same offence, then the only option is to increase the punishment.
