Rock Off

Post by skinnymartin »

In a few weeks I am doing a rock off on a rock radio show against a local, but excellent rock DJ and photographer, Danny Ackerley (awesome photographer - does lots of great music and wedding stuff if anyone is interested). The idea is we each pick a song for six categories and then listeners have to vote on the best ones.

The categories are:
The harder they come - An out and out heavy rock track. It's not a competition to see who can choose the heaviest song just your favourite track on the heavier end of the scale.

Easy like a Sunday morning - Your more chilled out choice.

Musical Wizardy - A track that really shows the technical proficiency of the whole band.

Hidden Gem - This could be an lesser known album track by well known band or a lesser known band that you want to showcase as they really deserve to by more popular than they are.

Guilty Pleasure - Speaks for itself. We can't explain it but we all have at least one.

Hit the Lights - Your favourite live track.
Any suggestions? One or two sensible ones would be helpful.

It will be my choice - but anything that jogged my memory and helped me make a decision is great.

It's on Hunts Community Radio, which broadcasts on t'internet.

Technical Wizardry I'd go with Cardiacs RES, bloody brilliant stop, start song. Wizard.

Just a reminder about this. I have my toons all selected. You can listen tomorrow at 10pm if you wish:

As an added incentive, the loser is to be the proud recipient of a pink "I heart One Direction" shirt to wear at their next gig.
As my next gig is Powerwolf next Friday, I'm sure you wouldn't want me to suffer like that.
