Graspop 28/06/2010

Postby Bay » Tue Jun 29, 2010 12:17 am

Kiss were on top form at Graspop, an excellent gig. No setlist surprises at all, but Paul's voice sounded great, an awesome way to finish the tour! I'll leave it to Mr-Kiss- UK and AxeBass to post a full review, they do it much better than i could, but here's a few pics.

That was a very very long but enjoyable road-trip - maybe the longest time ever over 24 hrs that 3 guys have been in a Fiesta

Steel Panther and MrKissUK randomly jumping without warning from a moving vehicle on a motorway to take a piss will be my lasting memory of the journey to Belgium. Watching England lose will hopefully fade as soon as the new season starts and we can get on with some proper footy.

We managed to get a position right at the front barrier (dan actually over the barrier!) on Gene's side. Watching video footage of the moshing from the previous day's trash bands helped to explain the amount of bandaged and bruised people at graspop. The most violent I have ever seen and made me glad to be a Kiss fan !

Kiss were superb, a super tight performance with Paul showing an ever improving vocal performance. Tommy was very animated all night and should, on displays like this, soon lose the tag of being an Ace impersonator. He is twice the guitarist and character that Ace ever was.......... in my opinion.

RFFB - Whilst we didnt catch any you'll be happy to know that Kiss were not stingy with the number of picks they threw out. Unfortunately I left without a free broken guitar.

Here are a few pics. The Tommy one being one of my favourite Kiss photos I have ever taken.

To Dan and Stuart - thanks for a great day, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Great review and pics AB,thanks for sharing,i thought it was illegal to take a leak on the motorway? When youve got to go...

When i saw KISS at GP in 2008 i found it a quite intimidating place, way too metal for me,some really weird characters, some of the moshing in the tents reminded me of football violence it was that wild.

Yeah, it's not the kind of place i'd like to spend a weekend at! Very odd place for Kiss to play. Imho...
