The tent I've got is a pop up kids play thing, so I'm hoping the weather isn't too bad...

Re: Meat Loaf demands $100,000 from tribute act
Yes, it is your opinion & you're right everybody has them, especially in today's society, though some people have the common sense to keep their stupid & utterly pointless opinions to themselves.Mr.Spireite wrote:Just my opinion, apologies if it offends you....
Not being a musician (apart from being a 5 fingered trouser flautist) you are obviously completely unaware of why you always seem to wind people up let alone know absolutely nothing about what it is you have an opinion about. Therefore I'll treat your 'opinion' with the contempt it thoroughly deserves.
Don't be offended or get your knickers in a twist, when you read MY opinion. As you say, we're all entitled to one & as someone with vast knowledge about what it is you have failed so pathetically to write about I believe Im allowed to have a valid opinion.
Yes, there are a lot of rubbish out there who just jump on the band wagon but if there is a call for it who are you to say they're lazy ?
Its all well and good having an 'opinion' but why don't you drag your worthless carcass off the sofa and do something constructive with your life instead ?
You seem to have a very opinionated view of just about everything...tattoo's depression, traffic lights, selling bass guitars that aren't even yours, drugs, medication, ad infinitum.
Reasearch your subject prior to spouting your worthless bile in future and perhaps you won't get so many people giving you a hard time about the shit you write.
Don't forget, its only MY opinion & as you state, Im very much entitled to it.
Have a nice day

Re: Meat Loaf demands $100,000 from tribute act
Very true... I used to work for Kiss Forever Band when i lived in Hungary (for about 5 years) and we used to do things like 5 gigs-5 countries -5 days...No sleep ,s*itty places to sleep and 100's of miles between gigs just to play to between 50 to 500 people...,but ,you know what ,I wouldn't have swapped it for the world , because if I couldn't see the real thing , I saw my mates every night working their asses off and the crowd going POTTY!!...LONG LIVE TRIBUTE BANDS , (by the way I have of course seen DTK many times as well... please carry on the good work chaps...)..Shane wrote:I'm using DTK as an example as I've worked with them for a few years and know what goes on, I just struggle to understand how you think tribute bands are lazy as they often travel hundreds of miles over the space of 48 hoursMr.Spireite wrote:
Opinions are like Assholes, we've all got them...people don't get your knickers in a twist over DTK. I have seen them myself as well many times. I enjoy them but I am not a raving fanboy.
Ziggy played guitar...or was it Ronson?

I agree, good tribute bands are ok.
Tallon, Limehouse Lizzy, Bootleg Beatles, Australian Pink Floyd
However it's the ones who spring up for artists that are just breaking through such as

Now move along, nothing to see here.....

Hang on a minute. Aren't Pink Floyd still an active touring band?Mr.Spireite wrote:I agree, good tribute bands are ok.

If they are this...
negates your point...Mr.Spireite wrote: I can understand the logic behind some bands who no longer tour or perhaps can't because they are dead, lol.
Ps.Who are Tallon a tribute to?

Talon are an Eagles tribute band in a similar vein to DTK in that they set up when there was no Eagles in the same way as DTK did the makeup when there was no KISS in makeup.

Fair enough, however Waters etc are still touring & playing PF music live so your point is still negated in my opinion.
