Help needed... songs about time...

Post by chikara »

Can anyone think of an album, either Artist based or a compilation album, which covers the topic of time?

It needs to be available on CD, unfortunately this one isn't but it would be perfect:

KISS -Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tonight, Time traveller,

Huey Lewis - Back in Time

Stones - Time is on our side.

There's a few to start with...

Also how about the soundtrack to 'TIME - The Musical'???? Though this may not be on CD... :?

There's this..

Time Pink Floyd

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to nought
Or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone
The song is over
Thought I'd something more to say

It's one of my favourite albums..
Roger Waters '84 solo album The Pros & Cons of Hitch Hiking has the following track listing -

1. 4:30AM
2. 4:33AM
3. 4:37AM
4. 4:39AM
5. 4:41AM
6. 4:47AM
7. 4:50AM
8. 4:56AM
9. 4:58AM
10. 5:01AM
11. 5:06AM
12. 5:11AM

Note - each track has a subtitle - i.e 4:33AM (Running Shoes) .. however the songs aren't about time itself, but the albums theme's are set during those time's listed.. That's the best I can do.
