Sending KISS albums abroad

Post by Dwight Fry »

Anybody here have experience of sending records overseas?

I've just uploaded my first ever ebay item to sell, and someone from Italy is asking me about postage. :?

To be honest, I only listed it as a UK delivery item, so I haven't a clue how much it'd cost to send to Italy.

Anybody any ideas? It's just a 12" by 12" album. You know the type!

Cheers.

Yes... ALWAYS use the, "International Signed For", service. It costs £3.50 for the service, (postage costs are additional) and can be tracked up until the point of it leaving the UK. After that, it does require a signature at the other end but can't be traced during this period. You're covered up to £34.00 for compensation and for an extra £2.00, you can cover it up to £500.00. I always use this service, just in case I either get a dodgy Buyer who says they never received the item or you end up getting heavy handed postal people that damage it.

Here's the online calculator:

Also... use packaging other than those flimsy UK mailers.... these bend easily and don't offer much protection to the corners of the album/12" cover.

Wow, thanks for the quick response. Looks like it clocks in at under a fiver - using my admittedly terrible weighing estimates. I thought I'd ask because when I looked it said £20! I didn't think that would be right...

Cheers again.

Thanks for the tips. And thanks for the heads-up on packaging too. I'd put the item on for the full 10 days so we'll see how it goes! If at all...
