The Sainsburys by me have taken to leaving the prices blank on the 'thingy' (What do you call that sign thing outside petrol stations??? LOL)

I'm taking my advice from Viz magazine - I'm getting a Monkey Spunk Moped! I bet it's cheaper than unleaded!

My Sainsburys do that as well. Perhaps they just can't be bothered changing it everyday. They need to get one of hose posh electronic ones which The Essos and Texacos have.

Ever since petrol prices hit 4 figures loads of stations near me don't display the price. Seems like even the petrol station designers didn't see a day when it cost this much...

Can I make a suggestion to a few of you.

When I was nabbed and banned for totting up, one of hte things I did was attend a driving course. The guy who ran the course was really good and showed me a few techniques for more efficient driving - block changing, keeping you foot off the gas and approaching junctions better that saved me over 10% on my fuel consumption (I used to get 290 miles out of a tank in my car, I now get over 340). Might be something to consider.

Martin, I have been reading alot of pieces on fuel economy and they have all been useful.

I didn't open the BBc link but heard that we are looking at 120p for unleaded very soon. The earthquake in China is also having an effect as they will need more fuel to rebuild apparantly.

We have just had a move to a really lovely house stopped at the last minute s our buyer reduced his ofer from 221K to 210K and won't budge. Not being racist but he an Iranian and Lost Angel was wary of him from the start but no we listened to the agent and now he has lost a sale as well.

Think we stay put and ride out the credit crunch for a couple of years.

I don't think people quite know how much the credit crunch is going to impact. Loads and loads of housebuilders are now stopping building and developing sites - including all the major players, a number of whom got really burned in the credit crunch (especially Taylor Wimpey). They will hold on to their land until the market turns up again.

My own view is that it isn't just the credit crunch, I think people are feeling the squeeze because of high taxes and higher costs of food, fuel etc.
