I think what Father Jack is trying to say is that it's not just Gary Glitter/Jonathon King etc that have dark skeletons in their closet's and possibly Sir James Saville may be hiding a few things that wouldn't be good for his public image...

Because he was very close to his mother ?
Because he likes jewellery ?
Because he has never married ?

I have to say that Jimmy Saville is just TOOOO obvious and for that reason I don't believe there's anything too dodgy about him..... He just fits the stereotype of a nonce.... but that doesn't mean he is one....

I agree, he plays up to it.....dtkdemongene wrote:I have to say that Jimmy Saville is just TOOOO obvious and for that reason I don't believe there's anything too dodgy about him..... He just fits the stereotype of a nonce.... but that doesn't mean he is one....
The Louis Theroux show was interesting, especially with his Norman Bates tendancies of keeping his mothers clothes and room has it is. But without ever knowing the loss of a parent you can't say how I would act....perish the thought.

Please tell me that this 'Hong Kong' isn't an underage Asian girl.Pete wrote:
Glitter, who is 64, has been in limbo after leaving prison in Vietnam - spending time in Bangkok airport and attempting to enter Hong Kong. '
The quality goes in before the name goes on.

Re: Should Gary Glitter be allowed to return to the UK?
The reason is because I personally think there's more to him than meets the eye & I have done for many many years.
I don't care if he was close to his mother. Hopefully, all of us should be close to our mothers, thanking that they are still with us. Thats, not my point.
The fact he wore a lot of jewellery isn't the point either. That parody was done to death in the 70's.
The fact he never married has nothing to do with it as well.
I just think there's something about this man that makes me not want to trust him.
Can't you see the comedic irony in this cleverly done satire ? Its obviously not just me that thinks this way about him.
I know two very well known people in the tv business that have their suspicions also. One of them told me about Barrymore long before he came out, but that's as far as Im willing to go. Im not landing someone in the shit just to explain my thoughts to anyone on here.
Its nearly the weekend, laugh a little. Shit things happen everyday in this world, let go & laugh a bit & hopefully the world won't seem such a bollocks place.

Re: Should Gary Glitter be allowed to return to the UK?
It isn't a question of should he be allowed to return to the UK, because as he is a British citizen it is actually, and unfortunately for us, his right to return should he choose to do so. Regardless of whatever we or anyone thinks. Though he certainly doesn't seem to want to...hmm, I wonder why?Pete wrote:Maybe the thread should be titled..Should Gary Glitter be allowed to return to the UK, if he wants to? As so far he's showing a great reluctance to return. Understandable I guess.
I read today in the paper (not sure if it's true) that he still has about £5 million saved away as he sold his back catalog rights just before he got done and jailed in the UK. I find that pretty sickening.
The question should be 'what should be done to him if he returns?'.
I seem to recall a news item that said the government was thinking of bringing in a law that said people could be prosecuted in this country, as well as abroad, for child sex crimes. It was to try and inhibit the (sick) child sex tourism trade. Thing is I can't recall if that was just the case if they weren't already prosecuted abroad.
But, if the law was brought in, then let him return, arrest him and let the system deal with the perv.
Didn't know he'd sold the rights to his stuff, but it still really pisses me off when I hear that GG track played at US sports events.
ACK!...It's Rock 'n' Roll!!
