That's incredibly sad, and it adds fuel to a rumour I heard yesterday that Monster's release date has been delayed.

I think the internet is utterly amazing technology but there's no doubt that it's facilitated the demise of the music industry and has totally devalued the music itself to the point where bands are unlikely to get funding to release anything let alone make a living from it.

Being purely selfish...what does this mean to the release of 'Monster'?

Being unselfishm this sucks for all concerned. Hope they all find jobs soon.

I've heard the same rumours that it'll delay the release of Monster. There hasn't been a full press release yet, but any company making cuts like that isn't in a very healthy position. :(
This just about sums up what will happen. Kiss could get dropped by the label completely
Love or hate the label, they were a major factor in metal both signing and discovering some great and iconic bands over the years. Over the next few weeks, many Roadrunner bands will be dropped and left to find new labels with Warner taking just the bigger more cost effective bands, ie. Nickelback. fu*k you Warner Brother Records.

Croaker & the boys are about to hit the road also.

That doesn't mean they'll necessarily want to release the album though.I mean, I imagine they would/will but probably not in June.

It looks like it's going to be worse than first appeared, here's an excerpt of an email from a (ex) member of staff
It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Heavier than the heaviest of metal you have ever listened to. As I’m sure you are fully aware from the social network shitstorm yesterday, Roadrunner Records is being shut down right across the world, apart from a fraction of people who will remain in the US office. This includes some incredibly influential people who have signed all your favourite bands from Slipknot to Nickelback to Sepultura, and who therefore have shaped metal today as we know it. The whole UK office is devastated beyond words, we had no idea it was coming, and then all of a sudden Warner drop a bomb shell on us and we’re out of a job.

I’m not going to go into detail with the intricates, nor do I want you to speculate what is going to happen yet to the bands because at this early stage we have no idea. Please be patient and wait for an official statement from us or Warner themselves. I don’t know exactly how much longer I’m going to be here, but you can probably count the weeks on one hand.
