It's all gone very quiet with her locally around here - it was big news in the local evening rags not long ago - she semed to be trying again a few months back but since all the abuse stuff has come out she's gone very quiet.

There's a character in Irvine Welsh's, 1996 Ecstasy book of short stories that is reportedly based on him: a Savile style DJ (Freddy Royle) who has a relationship with a local hospital that allows him to pop by in the evening and fu*k the recently deceased (sorry mum).

"“The thing was, Freddy brought millions of pounds into the place with his fund-raising activities. This brought kudos to the trustees, and made St Hubbin’s Hospital a flagship for the arm’s-length trusts from the NHS. All they had to do was keep schtumm and indulge Sir Freddy with the odd body.”

In fact, it's so obviously based on JS that I remember at the time being surprised that he hadn't taken any legal action against Welsh or his publishers.

Maybe now we know why.
