Re: Songs needed
You'll be glad to know I did this today and managed to get World Without Heroes played. In a few weeks time it looks like I am doing a Desert Island Discs thing for an hour, which means 10 songs!!

Martin, you can become a legendary British DJ by playing some Triggerfinger tunes (TF rules already on the EUropean mainland). Be the Brit who breaks them to the British audiences.. Some Brits already know them from their gigs on European festivals or even High Voltage UK, their tour with Thin Lizzy or their own gigs in London, Manchester,Glasgow etc.skinnymartin wrote:You'll be glad to know I did this today and managed to get World Without Heroes played. Some "more" radio friendly tunes: Short Term Memory Love, Is It, All This Dancing Around, Let It Ride, Soon, On My Knees etc (basicly everything )

HELL YEAH!! Nothing like blasting this one at festival sound level
And they are pretty good at making crappy pop songs awesome by upgrading them with some Zep, Purple and their own coolness.. Behold "Man Down" from Rihanna and "Mercy" from Duffy. Enough said me think..

And if this all too loud for your audience, here an morning easy sounding tune. Upgrade of a crappy electronic song that went viral and nr 1 for weeks in many countries (of course, all non- British, non- common wealth artists are allways banned by the BBC, ABBA being the exception/excuse).

So do you have the balls to stand up to the BBC, and redeem some respect for the Tories??

Not on the beeb. I will check them out, but these are meant to be songs that mean something to e. the provisional list includes 2 kiss tracks, Sabaton, Motörhead, Dire Straits and fall out boy(sorry bout that, but there are good reasons for both) Tigertailz, Twisted Sister, Ian Drury and Stiff Little Fingers.

What do you mean by: " but these are meant to be songs that mean something to e. the provisional list ..." I am missing something I guess..skinnymartin wrote:Not on the beeb. Re: Songs needed
As an example, the Dire Straits tune is there because of some memories of my early years with my good lady wife before we were married - we went to a brothers in arms we blew gig, Fall Out Boy is there because my daughter discovered fall out boy when they were a really small band and we went to see them in Nottingham, when they were a support act. Motörhead is in there because of memories of my son's 18th, Tigertailz because of their near status as house band at Hard Rock Hell.
It is a provisional list because they can't guarantee having every song in their catalogue, although a couple of the producers are metal fans.

Re: Songs needed
I see. So you need to have some "personal intrest".. Too bad you have just missed their London/Manchester/Glasgow gigs, because if you would have seen them, you would definately play them (as being the band that rock the shit out of my old bones, hehe). Anyway, some UK record company FINALLY got the bright idea that signing a band that gets (multi)platinum awards in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Poland etc for some or all their records, isn't that bad. Especially when you have to consider that they got their success by their excellent live reputation, and not by some "justin bieber mega hype thing".skinnymartin wrote:As an example, the Dire Straits tune is there because of some memories of my early years with my good lady wife before we were married - we went to a brothers in arms we blew gig, Fall Out Boy is there because my daughter discovered fall out boy when they were a really small band and we went to see them in Nottingham, when they were a support act. So the band’s third album All This Dancin’ Around, which was produced by Greg Gordon (Oasis, Wolfmother, Slayer and Soulwax) in Los Angeles’ famous Sound City studio, will finally see a UK release on April 15 via the Dramatico label.. Originally, the album was released over here in 2010.. Grab it Martin!
Classic Rock mag has also discovered them, and they have 3 cool clips of "Triggerfinger take on London town!" One of these clips has a KISS reference, so check it out http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/musi ... on-london/
Here is a cool YT playlist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwA1D0I_ ... psuzs&NR=1
