Anyone going to see Thin Lizzy and Queensryche?

Post by KLFUK »

Strange as it may seem, I think I've found the gig to end my year with. I didn't actually know they'd be playing at a venue that close to me, and having only just started listening to them( they've pretty much been around longer than me) I thought it was time I did. Anyone ever been to see either or both of these bands live? And are they any good? Should I be saving my money or should I be going and watching them?

It's a strange mix this one because without Phil Lynott it ain't Lizzy, it's more Whitesnake than Lizzy... Anyway, always wanted to see Queensryche and really regret not seeing them on the Empire tour.....

Karl, deliver me into temptation ......

Have loved Queensryche from seeing them support Dio in 1984 or was it 1983.

Really like John Sykes, Tygers of Pang tang, Lizzy's Thunder & Lightening album, Blue Murder album - but not sure - Lynott will always be Lizzy for me ...
Never saw Lizzy live, but that live album from 1978 - is awesome - Alive & Dangerous and that tv concert from back then too is awesome.

Will let you know .... have booked TigertailZ, Ratt, Y&T/TigertailZ, Keith Caputo/Ricky Warwick, Hanoi Rocks, Heaven n' Hell - so Scottish Connection - my vow of gig celibacy is going good

Well I'm up for it if you are. Both gigs are on a Wednesday, so it'll be a pain in the ass to get time off work.

Manchester would be easier for me to fly to.

Queensryche puts on a hell of a good show.

I went to see them with my daughter about 3 years ago, when they were redoing Mindcrime, before they released Mindcrime II.

It was in a bar with a small stage, and we were about 10 feet from the stage, which was great. They put on a performance worthy of a giant auditorium--it didn't matter to them that they were playing such a small venue. Very professional performance.

My daughter was screaming so loud that she passed out about five minutes before the show ended. I had to carry her out. She was wearing these big platform boots, and pretty much kicked everyone in the head on our way out.

If you guys have the chance to go see Queensryche, definitely do it. It's worth whatever they're charging.
