What have I been missing?

Post by skinnymartin »

I have got hold of some Anthrax stuff cos they're playing both Wacken and Hellfest (did I mention I was going). Never really listend, despite knowing that Scott Ian is a big KISS fan.

Anyway - bloody awesome - what have I been missing out on?!!

Martin, Martin, Martin,

where have you been?

You should have come to me ..... I have most of the 'ThraX stuff - got two 7" Soldiers of Metal vinyls - one signed by Ian, Benante, Spitz and the other is NOT!

will email you this evening with a discography and a breakdown of the tracks and the lineup.

I personally can't wait to see new kid Dan Nelson at ULU in London.

First saw 'ThraX support MetallicA at St David's Hall in Sept 1986 - they blew me away.
HC - that Hammy O appearance - Feb 1987 or Nov 1987 - if it was Feb '87 with Metal Church and Crimson Glory supporting - i was there!

Metal THRASHING MAD!

Excuse me - Benante, Bello and Ian are massive KISS fans - when my God of Thunder phone ringtone goes off - they fall over themselves laughing.
At a soundcheck - Dublin 2004 - they play God of Thunder for me - i was over the moon!

Four top Anthrax tunes:

"She"
"Love Her All I Can"
"Parasite"
"Watchin' You"

They really do do the best Kiss covers.

No hatred sir, I like Anthrax as a band and on a whole. Not a big fan but enjoyed them live and on record.

I found something on the net recently called, imaginatively, "Covers". Is this an official release? 27 tracks, covers of Metallica, Sabs, Lizzy, Maiden, Ramones, Beastie Boys, Celtic Frost, Cheap Trick, U2 and The Police amongst many others and a mighty version of The Chantays "Pipeline".

If you want a copy Dan, or a track listing PM me...

Anthrax were one of the best live bands around.............they just lost their appeal to me when they stopped being 'fun'

Everyone is entitled their opinion - I love the guys.

F75, yes please email or text the set list - the cheap trick, sabbath, kiss, celtic frost stuff I have on b'sides and the nice f**kin ep and other bits - but would be nice to have in on cd.

Dan86 - at least AnthraX didn't have to go into rehab and release a crap psychotherapy documentary .... Some kind of monster

Woody - did you see the guys at Hanley in 1987 - awesome show .....

These guys broke the barriers between metal/hardcore and metal/rap ......

They are my fave of the big 4 thrash bands .... NFL!

Skinny Martin, I'm still waiting for your reply ...
