Extreme - your thoughts

Post by daniel3786 »

Pornograffitti

One of the all time great metal/hard rock albums, super class musicians, progressive too for a rock band but not as over the top as Dream Theatre.

What is everyones thoughts. I need to check out some of the later albums too, particularly the next one after Pornograffitti.

3 words ....

More than words ....

This spoilt it for me .... Pornograffiti & 3 Sides are awesome albums (hadn't heard their first until Scottish Connection cdr it for me)
Don't get me wrong - I don't begrudge the success of it .... well done lads.

But when you play DONINGTON - Monsters of Rock 1994 - you don't play a freakin' ballad - FFS.
Yes I'm guilty - I bottled them .... especially when PanterA tore the place apart - the band that preceded them.

The new album is OK, I know Scottish Connection and Downy are more fans than I.

To be fair Dan, they were asked to play that at the request of Aerosmith. They weren't actually going to play MTW until Perry & Tyler asked them too....

In answer to the original question...Extreme? Well I Love the first 3 records, after that their a bit meh (in my opinion, though must admit to not hearing the latest effort).

For some reason, although they seemed like my sort of band back then, I never got into them. I think it was the singer, never really warmed to the guy.
Anyone heard the stuff he did with Van Halen? Not heard it myself but by most accounts - Rubbish.
