Best KISS Songs to learn on Guitar
Canadian lad I met at Wacken is learning guitar. Wants to know what 5 KISS songs are best to learn. As I am a guitar thicko - I would appreciate your views.

I find as an incredibly average guitarist myself that Heaven's on fire and Lick It Up are quite easy to play.skinnymartin wrote:Canadian lad I met at Wacken is learning guitar. Wants to know what 5 KISS songs are best to learn. As I am a guitar thicko - I would appreciate your views.

Cold Gin is as basic as you can get but sounds great.
Mr Speed, Christine 16, Magic Touch and the intro to Unholy are all great for beginners.

agree
cold gin is simple and a great pace to start but most of the early songs are really straightforward even things like detroit rock city are really basic and easy for a beginner to pick up,

Re: Best KISS Songs to learn on Guitar
The five easiest KISS songs I would suggest to learn are:
Strutter
Cold Gin
Lick It Up
Coming Home
God Of Thunder
All very simple riffs and the solo's are well structured (block structure) so the beginner can have a bash at them and not sound too much like Vinnie Vincent tuning up a violin if they hit the wrong notes.
The intro to Unholy would be very impressive for the absolute beginner to nail. Its not the sort of song I'd ask a novice to attempt unless they showed outstanding immediate flair though with the way the intro is played I can see where your coming from.

Instantly I thought of the Scorpions song of the same name when I read that which is very hard on guitar , I almost forgot Kiss had a song called Coming Home they play it so seldom.Father Jack wrote:The five easiest KISS songs I would suggest to learn are:

All the early kiss stuff is pretty easy to pick up,tell him to downtune half a step(none of the early kiss stuff is in standard tuning)Easiest are probably "she" and "i still love you"skinnymartin wrote:Canadian lad I met at Wacken is learning guitar.
