Former Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent has lost a US Supreme Court appeal in a royalties dispute with the rock group, according to the Associated Press.
Vincent - real name Vincent Cusano - was part of the band's line-up from 1982 and 1984 and co-wrote songs for its 1983 album Lick It Up.

He was dismissed from the band but later returned to contribute material to 1992 release Revenge.

The ruling follows earlier unsuccessful legal attempts to claim royalties.

Lead singer Gene Simmons has been quoted as saying that Vincent was dismissed from Kiss for "unethical behaviour".

Renowned for their flamboyant stage make-up and costumes, Kiss has had many different line-ups since its inception in the early 1970s.
