From NFL UK:

Rock legend and media mogul Gene Simmons co-founder and lead singer of KISS, will perform the US national anthem at the NFL International Series game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday September 29.

Simmons will sing "The Star Spangled Banner" prior to kickoff of the seventh NFL regular-season game to be played in the United Kingdom. He previously performed it at the Oakland Raiders’ home game against the San Diego Chargers in 2012.

Simmons, who co-founded Kiss four decades ago, said:  "I’m excited to be touching down in London to sing our US National Anthem at the Vikings-Steelers game. I always love playing a role in these types of high-action, fast-paced games, not to mention returning to the UK and performing in front of some the best fans in the world!"

Kiss have sold more than 100 million CDs and DVDs worldwide and continue to sell out stadia around the globe. In 2012, they released their 20th studio album, "Monster", which made the top three of the Billboard charts within its first week. Simmons is well-known to UK television viewers for his eight series of "Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels", as well as the two series-long "Gene Simmons’ Rock School", which aired on Channel 4.

Simmons was also recently announced as the co-owner of the LA Kiss, which will begin play in the Arena Football League in 2014.

"We are very excited to have Gene playing such an important role in our game," said Alistair Kirkwood, managing director of NFLUK. "He is one of the most recognisable personalities in the world and has an incredible track record in the music business. We are proud to have him involved and I know the fans will get a real kick out of it."

The Steelers-Vikings game will kick off at 6:00 p.m. UK time (1:00 p.m. ET) and will be aired live in the UK on Channel 4, Sky Sports and Absolute Radio 90s and in the US on CBS.

The NFL will stage its second International Series game of 2013 on Sunday, October 27, when the Jacksonville Jaguars host the San Francisco 49ers.

After falling sales and visitors looks like the KISS Coffee House in Myrtle Beach is to close after 7 years of trading. Shame, never got chance to go there myself and the original franchise that was supposed to be worldwide never expanded past Myrtle Beach. If you're in the area apparently all the merchandise is on sale...

This appeared in the MyrtleBeachOnline:-

MYRTLE BEACH — A multi-year downward trend in business has led the owners of KISS Coffeehouse at Broadway at the Beach to decide to close the store around the end of September.

An exact date for the closing has not been set yet, said Matthew Goldschmidt, the store’s general manager.

KISS Coffeehouse has been a staple at Broadway’s Celebrity Square for seven years. KISS co-founder Gene Simmons came to Myrtle Beach for the opening of the Coffeehouse.

“It’s not that we didn’t do well,” Goldschmidt explained the reason for leaving, “it was just a steady decline.”

Goldschmidt said that everything in the store, which includes KISS memorabilia, is marked down to sell.

The following was reported on Metal Hammer and Classic Rock today, looks like there's a new documentary in the works by Alan G Parker who produced the recent Status Quo documentary:-

"How had this not already happened yet? KISS have announced that acclaimed director Alan G Parker has signed on to helm the official KISS movie!

“We are thrilled to have Alan onboard to help tell the definitive KISS story, a story of insanity… dedication… and a take no prisoners attitude combining to create the most spectacular beast in rock ‘n’ roll history; KISS,” says Paul Stanley. “Alan’s knowledge of the band amazed even us! We wanted the best….we got the best!”

You Wanted The Best…You Got The Best – The Official KISS Movie will be the most in-depth documentary ever produced on the rock ‘n’ roll icons and will chart their incredible career right from the start. Expect to see it land some time next year."

This friday see's the anniversary games take place at the Olympic Park to celebrate one year since Britain hosted such a memorable Olympics, but they weren't the only games that took place a year ago…let's revisit the exciting Rock Games!

Featuring the likes of the mighty KISS ruling the sports as 'Games Masters', Alice Cooper, Jessie J, Slash, Alexandra Burke, Sir Christopher Lee, Andrew Marr and Hulk Hogan.

Why, you ask? Well...

Jamie Stangroom didn't get a single ticket for London 2012. So he cried a little and then he sulked a lot, before finally manning up and deciding to create his own version of the Olympics...he called it the 'Rock Games'.

So Jamie set out to persuade some of the biggest names in music to compete in what Sir Christopher Lee described as "silly little games"; it seemed like the only sensible thing to do at the time.
