Good news is that you no longer need to buy a weekend ticket for Download - day tickets will be available as from Friday 2nd May at a cost of 65 quid. There is no limit to the amount of tickets you can order.
Now the bad news, Ace is no longer on the same day as KISS (he is moved to Saturday) so you may need that weekend ticket after all.....

Although nothing has been offically confirmed, it is looking likely that Ace will be at download on the Friday (same day as KISS). How this will work out who knows, I just hope there's a nice gap between Ace & KISS. Who knows maybe a 1 song jam together would be on the cards?? Stranger things have happened. - Details

Sorry for the lack of updates, here's a quick round up of the last week:-
KISS have added yet another European date to their tour - Latvia on May 22 - in addition to the Italian and German shows recently announced. As far as I'm aware no further UK dates are scheduled although it is rumoured that some more Europe dates may happen....
It is looking very likely that 1 day tickets for Download will be released after all, although they will be very limited and it won't be until May.
Gene's been having a bit of trouble with his harness on the Aussie tour - first it didn't quite go right at the Grand Prix and then this happened in Brisbane:
http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=0tMvE6zS4hE&feature=related Apart from that the reviews of the shows have been excellent, here's links to a couple of reviews:-
Firstly some fantastic photos from the Grand Prix (thanks Karl): http://www.kissinuk.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3188
And also a short review from KISS Army Australia http://www.kissarmyaustralia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=5305

With the lack of UK KISS dates (other than Download) many UK fans are now considering one of the next nearest shows - Paris. Here's some travel advice for those of you also considering it (note this is for info only, we don't necessarily endorse any of the links below!!!):-
Tickets: These can be purchased from either the site listed on kissontour.com or from Ticketnet.fr Cost: €84.00 (seats), €67.50 (standing), €56.50 (back seats)
Hotels: Do a search for hotels around the Bercy area, there are lots to choose from. Some examples are the Helvetia http://www.helvetia-paris-hotel.com/ and the Claret http://www.hotel-claret.com/
Getting there: http://www.bmibaby.com/ and http://www.easyjet.com/ are worth looking into (BMIBaby from East Midlands, Easy Jet from Luton). You can also get the train from St Pancras from http://www.eurostar.com/
The whole package: Some companies are offering the whole trip as packages. Argon Events are offering a coach trip to the Paris gig. It's on sale now on a first come first served basis. Go to http://www.argonevents.com/ for details.

A lot of people are asking about other UK KISS dates - currently nothing has been announced and the companies involved are being very very quiet! I understand more Europe dates will be released this week, but the number of potential gaps are disappearing fast!
Also Ace will also be appearing at The Corporation in Sheffield. Tickets can be bought by contacting the box office on 0114 2760262 for the Box Office.

Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets will headline this year's sixth Download rock festival at Donington Park this summer.
Judas Priest, Motorhead, HIM and Rise Against will also appear at the Leicestershire festival, which runs from 13 June to 15 June.
Veteran rockers Iron Maiden closed last year's festival.
The Download Festival followed on from the Monsters of Rock festivals which ran at Donington between 1980 and 1996.
Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins told BBC Radio 1's Rock Show it was "an honour" to be asked to play at Download 2008 and that the band hoped to have its new album finished in time for the festival.
"The album will probably be finished by then so there will be a load of new songs," he said.
He added: "It's good that we're doing Download now - we're at a point where we need to be finished by then."
In 2006, Deep Purple and Alice Cooper were among the acts at the first UK Monsters of Rock in 10 years, held at Milton Keynes Bowl.
