Danny Jones, DTK]Ash from Dressed To Kill will be playing his debut solo show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Manchester on New Years Eve. As you will expect, there will be loads of Paul Stanley solo material and of course a few KISS Klassics thrown in too. The party starts at around 10pm and goes on until the small hours. He will be joined onstage by fellow DTK guitarist Danny, and ex Parasite members Carl and Mark. For more information contact Ash on : "KissTribute@aol.com" |
| Talking of Dressed To
Kill, Iain Lee yesterday mentioned that he still wants to get
KISS on the very final RI:SE show in 4 weeks time. He then said
that as they probably couldn't make it he would have a live performance
from Dressed To Kill instead!
Also, this has come from Michelle Morgan:- 1) On Rise yesterday, Ian Lee said that on the last show, he wanted to
have Dressed to Kill as guests! |

BBC, via Amabel Thornton]Kiss singer inspires new cartoon The cable network Nickelodeon has bought a 26-episode cartoon series inspired by rock star Gene Simmons, singer with extrovert veterans Kiss. My Dad The Rock Star is based on Simmons' book of the same name, about a 12-year-old who craves a normal life with his rock star father Rock Zilla. The cartoon adaptation by Canadian producers Nelvana made its debut in Canada in September. Nickelodeon plans to show the cartoon in the UK as well as around Europe. |
Nick
Smith has found this in December 2003's edition of 'the
FACE' magazine. If anyone knows anything else about them please
let me know! "Mime
Is Money: Jack Black's School Of Rock hit Number One in the USA
movie charts and The Darkness album has gone triple
platinum over here. Tongue-in-cheek soft rock has moved out of
Houston and into money-making territory. And here is the logical
conclusion of the gag: PISS, a band of air instrumentalists.
Formed at the UK air guitar championships, they have signed to
Brighton's Red Records to release a virtually silent EP. They've
already "played" at the big festivals, are penciled in
for a Peel Session, and are filming "PISS-umentary"
Urinal Tap. Piss-take they may be, but their gigs are debauched,
theatrical fun and major labels are beginning to circle around
them. So raise the horns of rock and "give Piss a
chance"."

Dan Bach] On Saturday 15th of November, at least five UK based KISS fans will be going Stateside, to witness the mighty KISS at their hometown - NYC at the hallowed Madison Square Garden. Two of the five fans have seen shows of the double headliner tour of KISS and Aerosmith already. At least two of the group will witness a further show at Portland's Civic Centre two day's later. There are plans to visit Eric Carr's grave at Newburgh's Cedar Hill cemetery as well. Reviews and photos of this trip will be posted on both KISSinUK and Sikkworld websites. Credit card devastation is assured, but as one member of the group said - to see KISS at the Garden!! - Speaks for itself. |

| A few days ago I printed
an article from Stephanie Legg saying that she won the guitar
signed by Mark at the expo. Somehow I managed to mix this up
with the E-mail from the real winner - Juliet Stemp. Apologies
to both Juliet and Stephanie! Click here to read the real winners story! |
It's
been a while since KISS have made it to the cover of a UK
magazine, but the latest issue of Classic Rock (Dec 2003)
features Gene posing next to Steven Tyler. Inside in an
interview with Paul & Gene all about the tour and the future
of KISS, one interesting quote from Paul is "Would I like
to do a new KISS album? Yes. And my guess is that we will do it,
too". |
Phil Williams, who I met
at th e
Expo last week, has kindly sent in a review and pictures from
the San Diego show in October. Phil was luck enough to get a
platinum package complete with back stage meet with the band.Click here to read the review. |
Nothing like a bit of
Halloween to bring out the KISS fans! The following KISS pumpkins
have been sent in from Dave (Mr Speed), Wendy Finn and Matt
Sefton. The girl in the picture is Charlotte Sefton, here's a word or two from her dad:- "Attached are some pictures of my 5 year old daughter Charlotte Sefton dressed in her Gene costume that we've put together over the past few weeks. Charlotte wanted to attend the Kiss Expo in Nottingham in full Gene gear but the age restriction of 14+ meant that we couldn't go. It would really help to make up for that disappointment if you would post a picture of Charlotte on your site to show everyone there's a new God of Thunder in town (Charlotte walks round the house constantly shouting "OH YEAH? Well, allright" :) We also made a Gene pumpkin for Halloween too, which should raise a smile! On the costume, we paid special attention to the dragon boots, which are made (would you believe) from Play-Doh!" |
